The Alaska Government Finance Officers Association was organized in 1969 (formerly Municipal Finance Officers
Association of Alaska). The organization's purpose is to promote professionalism and excellence in government financial management by fostering growth through support (peer networking and leadership
opportunities), education (conferences, training and scholarships), and recognition (personal and professional accomplishments), and by actively participating in the advancement of the discipline through
influencing and improving standards, policies and legislation for the benefit of members and communities. |
